La asignatura Bioprospección y Bioensayos pretende introducir al alumno en los diferentes aspectos relacionados con la valoración y el uso de la biodiversidad. Esta asignatura presenta al estudiante los antecedentes, desarrollo, avances y perspectivas de la investigación multidisciplinaria en bioprospección terrestre y marina que se realiza a nivel mundial y a nivel local.
Con el desarrollo de esta asignatura se busca que los estudiantes:
· Desarrollen criterios y habilidades para reconocer las diferentes aplicaciones y usos de la biodiversidad tropical
· Conozcan las técnicas y herramientas analíticas necesarias para desarrollar actividades de bioprospección
· Profundicen en los aspectos más relevantes hasta hoy conocidos de la bioprospección, área interdisciplinaria de las ciencias químicas y biológicas
· Aprendan cuáles son los aspectos fundamentales a tener en cuenta cuando se realizan investigaciones en el área de bioprospección
